The Dongfeng Nammi 06 is a compact electric SUV with a futuristic, grille-free front, T-shaped headlights joined by an LED strip and sturdy plastic trim around the lower body. It is aimed at city drivers who want SUV practicality and a long range at a low price.

A 135kW electric motor drives the front wheels and gives smooth, quiet acceleration. The 51.87kWh LFP battery is rated for up to 471km on the Chinese CLTC test, which works out to around 380 to 400km in more realistic WLTP terms, enough for a week of commuting between charges. With DC fast charging, the battery can go from 30% to 80% in about 18 minutes on a suitable charger.

The cabin is modern and minimalist, with a large touchscreen and a digital driver display, and the high-spec version adds a panoramic sunroof that opens up the interior. The centre tunnel has a hidden storage compartment and a wireless phone charging pad. Higher trims also offer comfort items such as power seats, and heated, ventilated and massage seats. The boot holds about 500 litres, which is generous for a car just 4.3 metres long.
